How to Start?

-Take the cocopeat disc and soak it in the water for 1-2 hours. Remove the water and separate the peat. Repeat this process 2 times Soak the peat overnight for better results. -Nursery mix -Prepare the mixture by adding 2 parts of cocopeat and 1 part of vermi-compost. This mixture is to be used for paudh(sapling) preparation. -Potting mix- For the bigger pot take 2 part garden soil & 1 part vermi-compost. This mixture is to be used bigger pots at the time of transplanting.

Fill the mixture in the grow cups upto 75% level and water the cup until it starts leaking from the bottom. Proceed further according to steps stated for specific seed.

Tomato seeds

Tomatoes can be sown throughout the year. The productiveness of any seed is subject to your local climatic conditions*, the sowing method you adopt, and your commitment to the planting process. Follow these steps for best results.

Sowing

-For sowing take a grow cup and fill it with the mixture.  -Hold the Tomato seeds in your left palm & sow 4-5 seeds per cell/cup. -Place your seeds on the surface of the medium and use the inside with your finger and cover the ---Surface with mixture ensuring that the seeds are covered. -Keep the seedling tray indoors till the seeds germinate. -Water your seeds every day. -Water it in the form of a light shower using a watering can.

Caring

-Tomato seeds will germinate within 6 - 8 days and tiny sprouts will be visible at this stage. -Once seeds germinate, put the tray in an open partially sunny spot near the window. -Second week onwards your seedlings will start growing into a plant. At this stage expose the seedling tray to more sunlight to encourage leaf growth. -Four weeks after sowing your seeds, your seedlings will be ready for transplantation. -Transplant your seedlings, with the root ball, to a bigger pot (at least 8 inches deep) or raised bed (spaced 2 feet apart) after 30-35 days from sowing in a planting mix of 2 part garden soil & 1 part vermi-compost. -Tomato seedlings can be transplanted deeper into the planting mixture. This will encourage root formation.

Chilli seeds

Chillies can be sown throughout the year. The productiveness of any seed is subject to your local climatic conditions*, the sowing method you adopt, and your commitment to the planting process. Follow these steps for best results.

Sowing

-For sowing take a grow cup and fill it with the mixture.  -Hold the seeds in your left palm & sow 2-3 seeds per cell/cup. -Place your seeds on the surface of the medium and use the inside with your finger and cover the surface with mixture ensuring that the seeds are covered. -Keep the seedling tray indoors till the seeds germinate. -Water your seeds every day. -Water it in the form of a light shower using a watering can. -Once the sprouts appear, uncover the tray and place it in an area with bright indirect light.

Caring

-The chilli seeds will germinate in 6-8 days and the sprouts will grow into saplings by the second week. -Transplant your seedlings, with the root ball, to a bigger pot (at least 8 inches deep) or raised bed (spaced 2 feet apart) after 30-35 days from sowing in a planting mix of 2 part garden soil & 1 part organic manure. -Water the plant every alternate day in winters with an even shower and feed it with a balanced fertiliser every 15 days. -Your chilli plant will start flowering at the end of 3 months and the chillies will be ready for harvest.

Cucumber Seeds

Cucumber can be sown throughout the year. The productiveness of any seed is subject to your local climatic conditions*, the sowing method you adopt, and your commitment to the planting process. Follow these steps for best results.

Sowing

-For sowing take a grow cup and fill it with the mixture.  -Hold the seeds in your left palm & sow 2-3 seeds per cell/cup. -Place your seeds on the surface of the medium and use the inside with your finger and cover the surface with mixture ensuring that the seeds are covered. -Keep the seedling tray indoors till the seeds germinate. -Water the sown seed bed immediately with a watering can to ensure an even light shower. -Cucumber plant requires full sunlight so plant the seeds in a sunny spot.

Caring

-Cucumber seeds will germinate within 6 - 8 days and tiny sprouts will be visible at this stage. -Once seeds germinate, put the tray in an open partially sunny spot near the window. -Transplant your seedlings, with the root ball, to a bigger pot (at least 8 inches deep) or raised bed (spaced 2 feet apart) after 10-15 days from sowing in a planting mix of 2 part garden soil & 1 part organic manure. -Water the plant every alternate day in winters with an even shower and feed it with a balanced fertiliser every 15 days. -Your cucumbers will be ready to harvest after 60 days from sowing and can continue for up to 3 months.

Lady Finger seeds

Okra can be sown throughout the year. But for best results sow in Jan-Mar, Jun-Jul The productiveness of any seed is subject to your local climatic conditions*, the sowing method you adopt, and your commitment to the planting process. Follow these steps for best results.

Sowing

-Okra seeds are directly sown in a bigger pot/tray -For sowing take a bigger pot (at least 8 inches deep) or raised bed (spaced 2 feet apart) after 10-15 days from sowing in a planting mix of 2 part garden soil & 1 part organic manure. -Hold the seeds in your left palm & sow the seeds 12 inches apart -Place your seeds on the surface of the medium and use the inside with your finger and cover the surface with mixture ensuring that the seeds are covered. -Water the sown seed bed immediately with a watering can to ensure an even light shower.

Caring

-Okra seeds will germinate within 6 - 8 days and tiny sprouts will be visible at this stage. -Water the plant every alternate day in winters with an even shower and feed it with a balanced fertiliser every 15 days. -Your lady finger will be ready to harvest after 40-50 days from sowing.

Coriander

Okra can be sown throughout the year. But for best results sow in Jan-Mar, Jun-Jul The productiveness of any seed is subject to your local climatic conditions*, the sowing method you adopt, and your commitment to the planting process. Follow these steps for best results.

Sowing

-Fill a shallow wide container with drainage holes and a minimum depth of 5 inches and fill it with a growing mix of 2 part garden soil & 1 part vermi- compost. -coriander can be sown in any season but it needs to be protected from dorect rain. -Water the seed bed immediately after sowing with a light shower using a watering can so as not to dislodge any seeds. -Keep the growing medium moist at all times by watering/misting it daily. -The soil bed or container needs to be protected from rain and direct harsh sunlight at all times for a good growth.

Caring

-The coriander seeds will start germinating 6 - 8 days after sowing and baby coriander plants will be visible in 10-15 days. -Give your coriander saplings partial sunlight of up to 4 hours in summers and full day of sunlight in winters. -Water every day either with a can or sprinkler system in outdoor spaces. -Your coriander should be good for harvesting after approximately 30 days from sowing. -Cut the plant 1 inch above the soil surface using a scissor and leave the root system, untouched for next harvesting. The same plant can be harvested 2-3 times every 20-25 days.

-You will notice that your spinach seeds have germinated within the first 6 days or even earlier. Baby Spinach plants will be visible in 10-15 days. -Mature Spinach leaves will be ready to harvest in 30-40 days. -Spinach leaves can be harvested by cutting the mature leaves using a scissor and leaving the tender growing base to the plant for next harvest. -You can keep harvesting Spinach as long as the plant survives.Spinach requires partial sunlight (3-4 hours) in summer & it can withstand full sunlight in winters.
